school logo Student National Anthem Protests

As a school district, we respect our students' First Amendment right to freedom of speech and to peacefully protest. We encourage our students to be engaged citizens who also maintain tolerance for the perspectives of others, including those with whom they may disagree.

Moving forward, band members who choose to engage in kneeling during the National Anthem will do so to the side of the stands, rather than on the field.

During this time, students should not come to school and will learn remotely.

Webster City Schools is using 2 different digital platforms in our return to learn plan. The platforms are based on grade levels. Seesaw is the digital platform for PK-2nd graders and Google Classroom is the digital platform for 3rd-12th graders. To help parents become more familiar with each of these digital platforms a series of videos is available on the district's Return to Learn page.
