Free Meals for 21-22

Dear Families,

The Webster City Community School District has been approved to participate in the Seamless Summer Option! The program is made available through the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Throughout the 2021-22 school year, ALL students will receive free breakfast and lunch meals, Monday through Friday. Families do not need to fill out an application to receive the free meals. However, an application is needed to be approved for additional benefits, such as the new P-EBT relief available to families based on their income status.

Applications for Free and Reduced Meals are available at the school administration building, at each school building office, and on each school’s website.

As we begin the school year, our food services teams will be preparing and serving nutritious meals and following all health and safety protocols.

Please note that we will not be offering to-go meals at this time. Additionally, if a child receives milk only (often because they bring a lunch from home), the cost will be $.50 each. Unfortunately, the milk-only option, along with any extras at our middle and high schools, are not part of the program’s reimbursable FREE meals and therefore would require students to have funds in their account to purchase extras. They may also pay cash.

To view the full announcement and more details on this program, please see this news release.

If you have any questions, please contact me at 515-832-9210 or todd_hartnett@webster-city.k12.ia.us. We are excited to move forward with this program and provide this critical resource to our students and families!

Sincerely,

Todd Hartnett
Webster City Schools Food Service Director
