Dr. Ross Retirement

November 15, 2022 Dear Lynx Families,

I am writing to let you know that, after a great deal of thought and consideration, I have decided to notify the Board of Education of my intention to retire as superintendent at the end of the 2022-23 school year.

This was a very difficult decision to make. It has been a joy and an honor to serve as your superintendent for the past five years, and I will very much miss working and interacting with our amazing students, staff, and families each day. At the same time, I look forward to spending more time with my family—especially my four grandchildren.

I feel confident that the District is in a strong position both instructionally and financially to approach the future. This allows the Board, staff, and community to work together to plan for the years ahead, a process that will include addressing facility needs at our high school.

The Board officially accepted my retirement notice on Monday, November 14. I will begin working with Board President Beth Van Diest as the board begins its recruiting and hiring process. My goal in the coming months will be to make for a smooth transition in leadership while continuing to serve our school community until my retirement.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve the Webster City Schools! Thank you for your engagement and partnership as we have worked together to ensure the best possible learning experience for our students.

Sincerely,

Dr. Mandy Ross Superintendent
