At Webster City High School we are taking our high school improvement efforts to the next level.  It is our goal to motivate all students to take more responsibility in their studies and to actively plan their futures.

The State of Iowa now requires all students to successfully complete a core curriculum which includes 8 semesters (4 years) of English, 6 semesters (3 years) of math, 6 semesters (3 years) of science and 6 semesters (3 years) of social studies.  The State of Iowa also requires that all students be enrolled in a physical education class every year of high school.

We believe that it is important for students to take the elective courses of their choice to prepare them for their individual after high school plans.   We believe that it is the School District’s responsibility to have courses available to students that will enrich their education and provide a good foundation for their futures.  With this in mind we also believe it is the students’ (and their parents’) responsibility to enroll in the courses they feel they need to be successful.
